Design & Looks

Creta Electric is based on the popular new-gen Creta facelift. It will have the same bold SUV look with some unique EV elements like a closed grille, special alloy wheels, and blue highlights to show its electric nature.

On the other hand, e-Vitara EV is expected to follow a fresh design language. Maruti may give it a more futuristic appearance with sharp LED headlamps, connected tail lamps, and a more aerodynamic body style. The design will be SUV-like but slightly more modern.

Battery & Range

Battery is the heart of any EV. Hyundai Creta Electric is likely to offer a 45 to 50 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 400 to 450 km on a single charge. It will support fast charging, possibly charging 0 to 80% in less than 50 minutes.

Maruti’s e-Vitara is where things get exciting. Maruti has partnered with Toyota, and they’re expected to offer a larger 60 kWh battery, delivering up to 500 km range – which will be one of the highest in this segment.

Interior & Features

Inside, Creta Electric will likely carry the same layout as its petrol model but with EV-themed colors and a fully digital driver display. Expect a large touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, connected car tech, and ADAS.

e-Vitara EV will not stay behind. It may get a dual-screen layout (one for infotainment, one for instrument cluster), wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and safety features like 6 airbags and 360-degree camera.

Performance & Drive Feel

Creta EV may use a motor delivering around 130-150 bhp, offering smooth and silent performance. Since Creta is already known for its comfortable ride, expect the EV version to be similar with a quiet cabin and strong city performance.

e-Vitara may get a motor with about 150 bhp or more, thanks to Toyota’s tech. The main focus will be on range and city usage. Maruti may also tune the motor for better efficiency, which will help it reach that 500 km mark.

Price & Launch Date

Creta Electric is expected to hit showrooms by early 2025 and may be priced between ₹20 lakh to ₹23 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be produced at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu plant. Maruti e-Vitara EV could be launched by the end of 2024 or early 2025, and its price might be around ₹22 lakh to ₹25 lakh, making it slightly premium due to the higher range and Toyota’s EV platform.
